Lindner Center of HOPE, Child and Adolescent Therapist

Dr. Schrantz is a clinical psychotherapist for children and adolescents for outpatient and residential services at the Lindner Center of HOPE.  She has over 27 years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy in a variety of settings and greatly enjoys facilitating change and healing with young people and their families.

Prior to joining the staff at the Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Schrantz  provided trauma-informed treatment to children and adolescents with traumatic experiences, sexual abuse, and grief at the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center.  For over 20 years, she worked at Hillcrest Training School, where she was a leader in the development and implementation of evidenced-based, cognitive-behavioral interventions for youth with co-occurring behavior, mood, and substance abuse disorders.  At Hillcrest, she was the lead group facilitator for the substance abuse treatment track and pioneered the Trauma and Grief Component group therapy for juvenile offenders in Ohio.  In addition, she was a skilled provider of psychological assessment, individual and group counseling, and parent groups.

Dr. Schrantz earned her Doctorate Degree in Counseling from the University of Cincinnati.  She has advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as applied to trauma, behavior change, and substance abuse.  As a consultant for the University of Cincinnati Corrections Institute, she facilitated dozens of training for other professionals at conferences throughout the U.S. in cognitive behavioral interventions and curricula. Dr. Schrantz applied her expertise to evaluate and redesign treatment programs in juvenile community correctional facilities in Ohio to reflect evidence-based practices. Further, Dr. Schrantz worked in the role of Experienced Clinical Faculty for the National Child Traumatic Stress Network to help develop the Trauma and Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents Learning Collaborative and to train other professionals at the national level.
