Dr. Guerdjikova is a licensed independent social worker at Lindner Center of Hope, where she specializes in the treatment of adults with eating and mood disorders. She serves as Director of Administrative Services within the Harold C. Schott Foundation Eating Disorders Program and provides care across multiple levels, including outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. Her roles also include inpatient group facilitation and consultation for residential treatment units.
Prior to joining the Research Institute at Lindner Center of Hope, Dr. Guerdjikova completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Psychopharmacology Research Program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She is extensively trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is certified in enhanced CBT for eating disorders (CBT-E). As a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), her clinical training includes Family-Based Therapy (FBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based approaches. Her clinical and research interests focus on binge eating disorder and the treatment of complex patients with psychiatric and medical comorbidities.
Dr. Guerdjikova has served as a principal investigator, co-investigator, supervisor, and coordinator on numerous clinical trials involving mood, anxiety, and eating disorders. She has more than 25 years of combined clinical and research experience and has authored or co-authored several book chapters and over 60 peer-reviewed research publications. She is also an invited journal reviewer and frequently serves as an educator for professional, community, and advocacy organizations, including NAMI.
In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr. Guerdjikova has extensive teaching experience as a course coordinator, lecturer, and supervisor for medical and social work trainees. She is an active member of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) and the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP) and regularly presents at national and international conferences.
