You’re invited to join us for an engaging educational event, Glutamate: the neurotransmitter at the nexus of psychiatry, exploring the critical role of glutamate in psychiatric disorders and the latest advances shaping research and clinical care. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights from experts and connect with colleagues interested in the evolving science of mental health from Axsome Therapeutics and presented by John Hawkins, MD an NNDC member and the Medical Director from the Lindner Center of HOPE. Objectives:

To review the role of glutamate in the physiology of normal brain function (learning, memory, cognition and mood)

  • To review and discuss pathophysiological mechanisms that contribute to glutamatergic dysfunction, including stress and neuroinflammation
  • To review and discuss modulation of glutamatergic signaling, including potential impacts of NMDA receptor antagonism on neuroplasticity and synaptogenesis (NMDA = N-methyl-D-aspartate)
