Residential Treatment Pathway

Residential Treatment for Schizophrenia and Psychosis

Experiences like hallucinations, unusual beliefs, or feeling disconnected from reality can be frightening and isolating, both for you and for the people who love you. The psychosis pathway at Sibcy House helps adults understand and manage these experiences in a setting that is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on recovery.

Who This Helps

This pathway is for adults who experience psychosis, whether that involves hallucinations, delusional beliefs, disorganized thinking, or episodes of feeling disconnected from reality. You might feel frightened, overwhelmed, confused, or alone in what you’re going through, or you may be adjusting to changes in your functioning, identity, or relationships. Wherever you are, this pathway meets you with understanding rather than judgment.

If any of that feels familiar, you’re in the right place.

It may be a fit if you’re navigating:

  • Schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder
  • Hallucinations, delusional beliefs, or disorganized thinking
  • Episodes of feeling disconnected from reality
  • Psychosis connected to mood, trauma, or other conditions
  • Adjusting to changes in functioning, identity, or relationships after a psychotic episode

What It Focuses On

The psychosis pathway focuses on helping you understand and manage psychosis in a way that is collaborative, compassionate, and oriented toward recovery.

CBT for Psychosis

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBT-P) helps reduce distress, strengthen insight, and build practical skills for living with and managing your symptoms.

Tailored Group Schedule

A tailored group schedule balances structure with flexibility, so you can engage at a pace that fits your needs and goals.

Residential Psychiatry

Our on-site residential psychiatry team manages medication closely, with timely monitoring and adjustments as things evolve.

Low Caseload Ratios

Low caseload ratios mean your psychiatrist has the time to give your care the attention it needs.

What You’ll Gain

Over time, residents in the psychosis pathway work toward:

A clearer understanding of psychosis and your own symptom patterns
Practical skills to manage hallucinations, delusional beliefs, and stress
Better emotional regulation and steadier daily functioning
More confidence in recognizing early warning signs and preventing relapse
A greater sense of safety, agency, and connection with others
Support for re-engaging with work, school, relationships, and personal goals

How It Fits Into Your Treatment

The psychosis pathway isn’t where treatment starts. Every resident begins with our Foundational Framework, focused on stability, insight, and readiness. Once you’re feeling more settled and your care and treatment team has a clearer picture of your needs, your treatment may move into the psychosis pathway, building on the stability you’ve already gained.

Your schedule continues to include some Foundations groups alongside pathway-specific work, individual coaching when it’s helpful, and recommendations shaped by your assessment. You can learn more about the full program on the Sibcy House residential treatment page.
