Residential Treatment Pathway
Residential Treatment for Anxiety and OCD
When fear, worry, or intrusive thoughts start running the show, life can shrink down to whatever feels safe. The anxiety and OCD pathway at Sibcy House gives adults practical, evidence-based tools to face what they’ve been avoiding, with the structure and support to make it feel possible.
Who This Helps
This pathway is for adults navigating OCD, anxiety disorders, or anxiety-driven patterns that interfere with daily life, relationships, or quality of life. You might feel stuck in cycles of fear, avoidance, reassurance-seeking, or hypervigilance, and want practical tools to regain your confidence and re-engage with the things that matter.
If any of that feels familiar, you’re in the right place.
It may be a fit if you’re navigating:
- OCD and related anxiety spectrum conditions
- Generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, or phobias
- Health anxiety or chronic worry
- Anxiety rooted in perfectionism, control, or difficulty tolerating uncertainty
What It Focuses On
This is one pathway with two personalized approaches, matched to how anxiety shows up for you. Both share the same aim: turning toward discomfort with structure and support, so fear and compulsion lose their grip.
ERP-Focused Track
For anxiety driven by intrusive thoughts, compulsions, rituals, or avoidance, including OCD and related conditions. It centers on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), paired with weekly individual work with a psychologist.
General Anxiety Track
For broader, more situational, or relational anxiety. It builds mindful flexibility and values-based action through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Reducing Avoidance
The work helps reduce rituals, reassurance-seeking, safety behaviors, and hypervigilance while rebuilding confidence in daily life.
Personalized Care Team Guidance
Your care team helps determine which approach fits best, and the two can work together as your needs become clearer.
What You’ll Gain
Over time, residents in the anxiety and OCD pathway work toward:
How It Fits Into Your Treatment
The anxiety and OCD pathway isn’t where treatment starts. Every resident begins with our Foundational Framework, focused on stability, insight, and readiness. Once you’re feeling more settled and your care and treatment team has a clearer picture of your needs, your treatment may move into the anxiety and OCD pathway, building on the stability you’ve already gained.
Your schedule continues to include some Foundations groups alongside pathway-specific work, individual coaching when it’s helpful, and recommendations shaped by your assessment. You can learn more about the full program on the Sibcy House residential treatment page.
