Getting back into a school schedule can take time, and it also creates more opportunities for adults in a child’s life to notice shifts in mood, habits, or functioning. Dr. Tracy Cummings, chief of child and adolescent psychiatry at the Lindner Center of Hope, said input from multiple people can help parents better understand what may be going on.
