Acute Inpatient Care
For patients needing the highest level of care and crisis intervention delivered with compassion and respect, Lindner Center of HOPE has 48 private rooms divided into three 16-room units for acute hospital stays. Cincinnati Children’s at Lindner Center of HOPE, supported by Lindner Center of HOPE clinical experts, provides stabilization for struggling adolescents age 12 to 17 on the 16-bed adolescent unit. Meanwhile, the needs of adults and seniors are addressed on two separate adult units.
Patients may require inpatient care if symptoms are severely disabling or there is risk of harm to self or others. After a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation is completed to gain a thorough understanding of the specific needs of each patient, inpatient treatment focuses on quickly resolving serious and life threatening symptoms.
Expert clinicians draw upon years of experience to treat patients with:
- Depression and Bipolar Disorders
- Eating Disorders
- Addictive and Co-occurring Psychiatric Disorders
- Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Schizophrenia and Related Conditions
- Psychotic Disorders
- Women’s Mental Health Issues, such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder and postpartum depression
After a diagnostic assessment is completed to gain a thorough understanding of the specific needs of each patient, inpatient treatment focuses on quickly resolving serious and life threatening issues with a goal of releasing a patient to a step-down level of care.
Inpatient care from the point of admission to the point of discharge is delivered with compassion and respect by Lindner Center of HOPE’s expert staff. A multi-disciplinary team, which includes a psychiatrist, physician, registered nurses, master’s level social workers and other unit staff, works with each patient on an individual basis and in groups, providing intensive treatment.
Lindner Center of HOPE has a lodge-like feel and is located in a serene and wooded setting. The environment is therapeutic and offers structure with 24-hour nursing care. Each patient has a private room and bathroom with a shower, access to activity spaces, a restaurant-style dining room, a gym and fitness area, a faith center, and a number of outdoor green spaces.
