SUMMARY:Parent DBT Skills Training
DESCRIPTION:Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is proven to help patients a
 chieve a life worth living. DBT is geared toward individuals who experienc
 e difficulty regulating their emotions\, tolerating distress\, and having 
 healthy interpersonal relationships. It balances the need for the person t
 o make changes along with respect for how painful life is for them. DBT te
 aches four skill modules: Mindfulness\, Distress tolerance\, Emotion regul
 ation\, and Interpersonal relationship skills. DBT is a well-established t
 reatment for borderline personality disorder\, substance abuse\, binging\,
  depression\, and other problems which include emotion dysregulation. Rese
 arch shows that those who have successfully completed DBT programs are mor
 e likely to have strong interpersonal relationships\, find employment\, an
 d stop having thoughts of self -harm. In addition\, they experience reduct
 ions in suicidal behavior and thoughts\, hopelessness\, depression\, drug 
 and alcohol problems\, and binge eating.\n\nLindner Center if HOPE Profess
 ional Associates offers DBT skills training for parents. This training is 
 intended for:\n\n 	A parent of a teen or young adult (some flexibility if 
 an older adult child is still in the role of younger adult)\n 	Whose child
  is either currently in DBT or has been in DBT in the past\n 	And they wis
 h to learn the skills to help reinforce their child’s use of skills\n 	A
 nd would like to use the skills themselves to self-regulate when their chi
 ld is not using their skills\n\nParent DBT Skills Training is offered Tues
 days 5-6 pm via Zoom video conference.\n\nOne round (15 sessions total) co
 vers all 4 Core DBT Skills. Click here for Parent DBT curriculum\n\nPartic
 ipants can register for 6 groups at one time\, or for all 15 groups with s
 pecific entry dates allowed. Members are responsible for practicing skills
  even if a group is missed. Participants will be required to complete a 30
 -minute individual orientation/commitment session.\n\nCost: $300.00 for 6
  sessions or $675 for all 15 sessions. 75$ fee for 30 minute orientation/c
