Dr. Lavanier serves as a staff psychologist for Lindner Center of HOPE, with her primary focus on the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and women’s health.

Within the Harold C. Schott Foundation Eating Disorders Program, Dr. Lavanier serves as the Clinical Director of the Adult Eating Disorder Services and is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS).  She functions as an outpatient therapist, oversees the eating disorder (EDO) clinical programming for adult inpatient and PHP levels of care, and is the lead supervisor for EDO psychology trainees.  She also serves as a consulting psychologist for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital’s inpatient and PHP EDO services.  She has been trained in CBT-E, Family-Based Therapy (FBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in the treatment of eating disorders.  In addition, Dr. Lavanier leads the outpatient body image groups at the center and has a strong passion for eating disorder prevention work.

Dr. Lavanier also serves as an outpatient therapist as part of the OCD and Anxiety Treatment Program and Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program.  She has completed advanced training and supervision in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) from the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute.  Dr. Lavanier also has received specialized training in the treatment of PTSD and attained certification as a Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals.

Before joining Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Lavanier’s training included experience in parent child interaction therapy (PCIT), treatment of trauma, school-based assessment and treatment, and university counseling and student advocacy.  She also spent over six years in the Division of Psychiatry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center working as a clinical research coordinator in the area of child and adolescent mood disorders.

Dr. Lavanier has more than 15 years of experience in clinical and research work and has co-authored more than 15 publications. She is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
