Laura Nixon, CPA, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, Lindner Center of HOPE has been selected as a finalist in the Cincinnati Business Courier’s 2023 C-Suite Awards. The Courier’s C-Suite Awards Program honors C-level executives from companies across the greater Cincinnati region for their contribution and commitment to the community and their outstanding professional performance.

The finalists will be recognized and winners will be named on October 12th from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at an event at Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown Hotel.

At the May 24th Reds game, Reds Country Cares focused on Mental Health Awareness. With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, the Reds invited guests from local organizations to the ballpark to participate in a pregame ceremony in appreciation of their work to help our community with resources and support for those in need.

Francisco Romo-Nava, MD, PhD, Associate Chief Research Officer of Lindner Center of HOPE was the Honorary Captain at the May 24th Reds game.

Brett Dowdy, PsyDLaurie Little, PsyD

Mason, OH, April 28, 2023 – Lindner Center of HOPE has named Brett Dowdy, PsyD, Chief of Psychological Services, to the role of Clinical Director of Outpatient Services and Laurie Little, PsyD, staff psychologist, to the role of Chief Patient Experience Officer.

Dowdy stepped down from the role of Chief Patient Experience Officer, a role he helped define and develop, to take on the responsibilities of leading and directing outpatient services for Lindner Center of HOPE Professional Associates.

Little has been intimately involved in the development and implementation of the patient experience initiative.  Her new role will enable her to continue culture change efforts at Lindner Center of HOPE while leading a deeper dive into the Center’s values of Empathy and Excellence.

Both take on the new responsibilities with deep and wide experience.

Jan Marhefka, MSN, RN at LCOH

Mason, OH, March 21, 2023 – Lindner Center of HOPE has named Jan Marhefka, MSN, RN, to the position of Chief Nursing Officer. Marhefka has been serving as Associate Chief Nursing Officer since November 2021.

As Chief Nursing Officer at the Lindner Center of HOPE, Marhefka has oversight of the Access Referral Center, the Welcome Center, Neuromodulation Center, social work, spiritual care, recreation therapy, House Supervisors, Utilization Review, Educators, Staffing Coordinator and direct oversight of both adult inpatient units.

Prior to joining the Lindner Center of HOPE, she worked in an acute medical hospital and served as Director of Nursing with oversight of the inpatient psychiatric unit, outpatient partial hospitalization program, ICU, Emergency Department and progressive care unit.  Marhefka has been in management for 24 years and an RN for 31 years.   She also teaches as an ad hoc professor for Miami University’s nursing program. Marhefka was named Employee of the Year at Lindner Center of HOPE in 2020.

Marhefka joined the Center in 2015 initially serving in the Manager of Quality and Compliance role.  In 2018, she accepted the Manager of Inpatient Units and was promoted to Director of Nursing in 2019.

Marilyn Schwemberger, MBA, MSN, RN, retired from the role of Chief Nursing Officer at Lindner Center of HOPE earlier this month.

Touchdown for HOPE Scheduled for Sunday, February 12, 2023

Lindner Center of HOPE’s Touchdown for HOPE Super Bowl Sunday event returns Sunday, February 12, 2023. starting with tailgating at 5:30 p.m. and with Super Bowl kick-off at 6:30 p.m., at the Great American Ballpark Bally’s Sports Club.

Proceeds from Touchdown for HOPE will be used to fund therapeutic enrichment services for the Lindner Center of HOPE, including horticultural therapy, spiritual care and new exercise equipment.

Sponsorship support and ticket sales will provide the tools needed to offer important therapeutic experiences for patients.

Touchdown for HOPE is a classy and fun Super Bowl party with big screen televisions, plush seating, and signature Cincinnati food favorites and other upscale tailgate-style treats. All taking place in a sports fan’s dream location –overlooking the baseball field.  Tickets are $100 per guest, but a young professional’s ticket, for those 35 and under, is priced at $75. Reservations include free parking in Central Riverfront Garage and Cincinnati favorites such as LaRosa’s pizza, Skyline Chili, Montgomery Inn ribs and UDF ice cream food and much more.
