Are you currently suffering from depression?

What: 
The Lindner Center of HOPE is conducting a research study that will evaluate people in a current depressive episode. Participants will be treated under the direction of their doctor and provide 3 blood samples during the study. The purpose of the study is to examine if unipolar depression, bipolar I or bipolar II depression can be determined from a blood sample. The study will last 9 weeks (6 visits during that time). Participants will receive treatment from their regular doctor and not from the study.

Who:
Adults 18 to 70 who have been diagnosed with major depression, bipolar type I or II disorder and currently depressed may be eligible to participate.

Pay:
Participants will be reimbursed for time and travel to the Lindner Center of Hope (Mason, OH). You will be compensated $50 for the screening visit, $100 for completing the initial baseline visit and $50 for each subsequent study visit, for a maximum total of $350 if you complete all of the study visits.
