Mrs. Marklay is a skilled psychotherapist who has provided individual, group and family therapy for more than fourteen years to children, adolescents and families. Prior to joining the Lindner Center of Hope, she served as a child, adolescent and family therapist at Centerpoint Health, formerly Norcen Behavioral Health, in Cincinnati, Ohio from 2000 to 2009. She provided outpatient therapy to children, adolescents and their families in a community mental health agency setting. She is skilled at treating a wide variety of mental health disorders.

Mrs. Marklay has treated adolescents with sexual behavior problems in both outpatient and residential treatment settings. She taught parent education groups at Hillcrest Training School for adolescents and families in the sex offense specific treatment program. In addition, she provided individual, family and group therapy to adolescents on probation and parole, referred by both Hamilton County Juvenile Court and the Ohio Department of Youth Services. She also facilitated outpatient treatment groups for adolescents, parent education groups, and parent support groups for those involved in treatment for adolescent sexual offenses and behavior problems, as well as treatment to trauma survivors in both residential and outpatient settings.

Mrs. Marklay has had many years of experience working in elementary, middle, and high school environments providing mental health services to school age children and adolescents. She provided nine years of school-based mental health counseling services in the Princeton School District. These services included providing assessments, direct service to students and families, staff and family consultation, consultation at school meetings, facilitating psychoeducational skills based groups on a variety of topics, staff training, and referring to community resources as needed. She also provided services to students from other schools within the Princeton District. She participated in the school’s Alternative Education Challenge Grant providing feedback and data on counseling groups to a State of Ohio Evaluator. She also was a Viking Merit Award Recipient (2007-2008 school year).

In addition, Mrs. Marklay also provided school based therapy services in the Norwood School District. She also has prior clinical experience serving as an adolescent therapist at The Pines Residential Treatment Facility in Portsmouth, Virginia.
