Lindner Center of HOPE, Staff Psychologist, Harold C. Schott Foundation Eating Disorders Program

Dr. Lavanier serves as a staff psychologist for Lindner Center of HOPE, with her primary focus on the treatment of eating disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder.
Within the Harold C. Schott Foundation Eating Disorders Program, Dr. Lavanier serves as an outpatient therapist, inpatient group curriculum coordinator, and assessment/outcomes coordinator. She has been trained in Family-Based Therapy (FBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in the treatment of eating disorders. She also serves as an outpatient therapist as part of the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Treatment Team and has completed advanced training and supervision in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) from the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute through the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation. Dr. Lavanier also participates in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy program offered at the Center, serving as an individual DBT therapist and an adolescent DBT skills group leader.
Dr. Lavanier completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at Lindner Center of HOPE during which time she provided individual and family outpatient and inpatient therapeutic services, specifically focusing on mood, anxiety, and eating disordered symptoms. She also developed and implemented a DBT skills program for patients with eating disorders on the adult and adolescent inpatient units and for the adolescent partial hospitalization program. Additionally, she initiated and led outpatient DBT skills groups for adolescents and their parents, among many other duties.
Before joining Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Lavanier’s predoctoral training included experience in parent child interaction therapy, treatment of trauma, school-based assessment and treatment, and university counseling and student advocacy. She also spent over six years in the Division of Psychiatry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center working as a research coordinator in the area of child and adolescent mood disorders.
Dr. Lavanier has more than 10 years of experience in clinical and research work and has co-authored more than 15 publications. She is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders (AED) and the American Psychological Association (APA).
